Please note that flickr's suggestion for the non-existent pics of pontisbright was 'pantsuit'. The LJ name change is powerful tempting. :D

I will do a proper post soon. I will. Really. Mostly, it will be about how I am watching The Web Planet and it is no way as rubbish as I was led to believe. Flying furry giant bee people! Vaseline on the lens to indicate alienness! Some people whose costumes are so badly designed they can only hop! Also Hartnell being absolutely hilarious, and Vicki being EVEN MORE BRAINIER THAN BABS. Gosh.

Also, I would like LJ to have not eaten the bit of code that makes links a different colour in my layout, because it is confusing the crap out of me.

:( I must admit, the bacon in that sandwich just looks like ham to me.

Yowser, uberspeedy commenting! Your bacon is a bit like what we call 'streaky bacon'. Back bacon is what we'd usually use for a bacon sarnie, which is more meaty and less fatty - so I suppose more like ham than what you'd be used to.

Hmmm. I wonder how disappointed I'd be if I ordered a delicious sounding "Bacon sandwich" and instead got, basically, a "ham sandwich." Does it taste like "streaky bacon"? I don't think I could get over it not being crunchy though. That's what makes bacon so amazing.

Well, you can still get streaky bacon here and I'm sure some people make their sarnies with it. But a back bacon one isn't at all like a ham sandwich, because it's hot and you get a little bit of crunch from the edgey bit, but not so much icky lardiness and more yummy bacony taste. It's kind of extra meaty and salty and still a little bit bad for you, which is what it's all about really. And tommy k, obviously. Mmmm. Baaaaaaaaaaacon. *Homer drool*

Clearly I must sample this delicacy when next I go to England. I am sad I did not get it when I was there last year. :( I also feel enlightened, for I have always thought a "bacon sandwich" full of streaky bacon, while sounding delicious, was also a bit... weird. Especially as we Americans are the really unhealthy eaters.

Yes! Travel here purely for the sandwiches. If you're ever in my neck of the woods, I shall rustle some up for you.

But yep, an all-streaky one sounds quite foul to me. I only really use that stuff to drape over the top of a roast chicken to stop it drying out and then chuck it away, to be honest.

Poor streaky bacon! D: I do like it on sandwiches, but it needs like, lettuce and tomatos and maybe cheese and onions or something in addition to that. Just bread and the bacon would be... weird.

I shall totally inform you of my next trip. I really would like to go back. ;_; Stupid economy.

I think the exchange rate might be swinging back in your favour at least, so if you have any money it will buy you many more of our useless pounds. Which I will shortly be attempting to buy some euros with, and crying. Stupid economy indeed. :(
