The really pleasing thing? Finally he's going to deserve all the fannish attention, what with them actually giving him some lines. Now all I need is to make an icon of him labelled 'The Oncoming Pron' and all shall be well.

Yes! Exactly! Seriously, this is what I thought Ianto was going to be like in S1. This is basically what I thought S1 of Torchwood was going to be like. I am happy for he has a character now! Jack/Ianto is so less boring!

I swear, Torchwood exists solely to validate fanon. Seriously.

We have Ianto the secret Man of Action and Jack Lover tha tthe fans wrote him to be. And now we have canonical confirmation that the Master spent large chunks of the Year That Wasn't killing Jack in a chocolate box assortment of ways.

I love how Rusty and co always go 'we hate the fans, we never listen to what they say, they don't know shit' - and then serve up exactly what the fans demanded from the off, ie the show they thought they were writing first time round but forgot to make actually amusing or self-aware or involving of character continuity. (Though we'll wait and see in that one.)

It's basically Ianto's show now, isn't it? I approve of this. He was in the first series so little they didn't manage to make him annoying at all.
